DIET is supported on GCC with versions ranging from 3.2.X to 4.1.x.
Note that due to omniORB 4 (see 2.1.5) requirements
towards thread-safe management of exception handling, compiling DIET with
gcc requires at least gcc-2.96.
DIET is also supported on XL complier(IBM) and Intel compiler.
