MusicBot is an open source project launched by students of the ENS Lyon. Its purpose is to create a musical assistant that would be useful for musicians of any level.
It will provide some basic tools in order to help musicians to work on a partition. For instance, the intelligent management of the scrolling and a tool to automatically digitize a partition, coupled with an editor to correct possible mistakes.
It will also output an analysis of the musician's interpretation if he provides a partition, and output a partition corresponding to what he played if he doesn't.
This software will also be distributed on smartphones and tablets in order to be carried over anywhere easily by musicians. It aims to be ergonomic and easily usable, even for people who have no knowledge in computer science.
MusicBot will accept the importation of scanned partitions. Therefore it will allow users to access a limitless shared database using websites such as IMSLP.
