Who am I

  • Name: Eddy Caron

  • Family: a wonderful wife named Isabelle, my fabulous son Teo and my marvelous daughter Cléa.

Occupation

I’m a Professor at ISFA (University Lyon1) and researcher at the LIP (Parallel Computing Lab.) located in the “École Normale Supérieure de Lyon”.

I’m Deputy Director in charge of research transfert since September 2017 for the LIP

Hobbies

Mountain (snowboarding, skiing, ski touring, trail running, trekking, mountain biking, …), Running, Motorcycle, Country Music, Cinema, Comics, Starbucks Mugs …

My research focus on resource management in Grid, Cloud and Fog environment with the awesome Avalon Team.

My current PhD are Maxime Agusti, Adrien Berthelot, Simon Lambert. More information about my tutoring and an history of it is available here.

I work on distributed resource management: scheduling, automatic deployment on grid and cloud environment, security, data management, workflow, Green, middleware development with (DIET), SaaS, …

  • 06/10/2010. HDR. I gave my defense of my HDR (Habilitation à Diriger les Recherches) about “Contribution to the management of large scale platforms: the DIET experience”.

  • 27/04/2009. SysFera (previously named Graal Systems) is one of winners of the “Concours national à la création d’entreprises de technologies innovantes”.

  • 11/06/2007. DIET is choosen for Décrypthon. June 11th, 2007: Unvelling Day.

  • 08/05/2007. Cléa. Birth of my daughter at 4:41 am.

  • 02/09/2005 Teo. Birth of my son at 3:04 am.

  • 18/10/2004. GDSDMI Cluster. GDSDMI cluster was born as prototype for Grid’5000 at Lyon. This cluster was available for research and DMI. More information
